Next Open Practice: Saturday, August 14th!Posted: 07/26/2010On Aug 14th (Saturday) CCRG will hold it's second open practice. This practice is open to any women 18 years or older who have a complete set of well fitting safety gear (helmet, mouthguard, elbow pads, wrist guards, knee pads and skates) and would like to share CCRG's practice time with CCRG skaters. Skater tots are welcome, as are friends and family who want to know what derby is and why their loved one likes it so much. The cost is $10 per woman. Dundalk will open at 9:30am for us to get ladies geared up and ready to skate. We will skate from 10:30-12:30pm Location: Dundalk Skateland, 1111 Northpoint Blvd., Baltimore, MD Last month we did 2 hours of safe and effective falls and recovery. This month we're going to work on skating form- both for skating fast and for skating in traffic. Anyone is invited. It is not expressly a training camp for potential new CCRG skaters. It's a chance for women to try derby on for size and meet roller girls in their natural environment, have fun, and get some sore muscles to talk about at work. |
