Charm City Roller Girls’ Undefeated Home Teams Face Off

Posted: 10/21/2012

On Saturday, November 17, 2012, The Charm City Roller Girls’ home team season reaches an unexpected cliff-hanger as the league’s undefeated teams face off.  In the opening game, the Mobtown Mods (2-0) and the Junkyard Dolls (2-0) grapple for a perfect record in what is sure to be an explosive battle.  While both teams use crushing defense and clever offensive plays to demoralize the competition, statistics indicate that the Dolls may have the advantage since they defeated the teams’ shared opponents by a larger margin and since the Dolls hold this season’s points per jam scoring record of 29 points.  But with the Mods holding the lion’s share of the league’s vets and current All Star players, the outcome is anyone’s guess.

In the second game, the Night Terrors (0-2) confront Speed Regime (0-2) in a fight for redemption.  Last season the Terrors soundly defeated Speed Regime twice on their road to the Donaghy Cup Championships.   However, the tides have turned and the Terrors’ jammer-centric strategies have proven less effective against the tight walls of this year’s opponents.  Speed Regime, who have intensified their overall pack play as well as gained two speedy transfers along with the return of two key vets, would love to capitalize on the Terrors’ missteps in an effort to exact revenge for seasons past.

Join the fun at the Clarence “Du” Burns Arena, 1301 S. Ellwood Avenue.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m.  The first whistle is at 6:30 p.m. with the second bout starting at approximately 8:00 p.m.  This event is family friendly and wheelchair accessible.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15, but it’s recommended that patrons buy online at www.missiontix.com; kids under 12 are $5; general admission is $12; and VIP tickets are $25.  Street parking is plentiful and paid parking lots are within walking distance of the venue.
